big thinking

well, after getting a dose of reality from Mr Parr about longevity, I'm back to feeling like there's so many ideas and projects i wanna do and so little time! although this time, i've decided that i'm just gonna do them. I'm going to get back into actually using my sketch book, start really cataloguing my ideas on photoshop as soon as i have them, rather than letting them stew and ferment in my head and then get cracking. I don't know where the money will come from, but I'll just have to adjust the work to the kind of spaces I can afford.. like free ones! I'm going to reacquaint myself with my inner guerilla and start just doing shit for the hell of it. I REALLY need to get myself a digital camera! i've realised that the progression of the term of reference from Environmental to Installation Art has just become Documentation Art. Installation is all about documentation and I'd like to say i'm going to rebel against that and just create shit for the hell of it, but i'll have to disappoint. I still have to get grant applications and have a CV like everyone else. And that's kind of sad, really. Anyway - the point is, watch out world! Like that's some kind of threat.. ha! But seriously, I realised this week, after having to distill the beginning of my art career to a long-lost friend, that 10 years goes by really quickly and that I don't have time to fuck around any more!
